I am Suleman Shahid and I am currently taking up my doctorate studies in ‘communication sciences’ at the Tilburg University in collaboration with TNO Human Factors and Noldus Technologies. In my PhD project, I am investigating the role of emotions during human-computer interaction (affective computing) in cross-cultural settings for making this interaction natural and adaptable. I am working as a 'lecturer in HCI' in the Department of Communication and Information Sciences of Tilburg University. I am also a visiting faculty member in the post-graduate ‘user system interaction’ program of Stan Ackermans Institute of Eindhoven University of Technology. Before joining Tilburg University, I did my Professional Doctorate in Engineering (PDEng) from Eindhoven University of Technology and also worked at Philips Research.
